In a way, I feel like I haven't gotten anywhere with her since 40 became the new 30 with WotLK. Add to that finally moving to my own apartment (must be a reasponsible adult now), and my guild getting gutted like a fish. Things have not been easy. Still, AntiTweak finally finished Gnomeregan, went to SM (& got her new tabard), and found new ways to kill time (achievements) this year.
In 2009, I have high hopes for level 60 (finally). I know its taking forever, but I do have seven other characters (which includes a new one for recruit-a-friend) to manage. I like to take my time with things.
So on Saturday, AntiTweak dinged 40! I wasn't paying attention when it happened so of course there's no screenshot. Sooo, it's supposed to be hard now without the armor & weapons according to some of the people I've talked to. We'll see though...

Earlier though, she got to tank Gnomeregan with Tralanna. Yes, I said tank and no, there are no screenshots. Sorry. We did make it to Electrocutioner 6000. Then I stealthed my way to the last punchcard since there was no way we were going to make it there without dying.

I went to the midnight launch on Wednesday at my GameStop. I wore my camo pants, druid shirt, and Alliance hoodie along with face make up (Night Elf marking - Claws). I did manage to find a "Happy Birthday" headband, but I really wanted "Birthday Girl". My friend & I showed up at like 7:30 pm. We wandered around until 8/8:30ish, and then got in line (or at least started it).
I was first in line (of course) and the only person to "dress up" (most people only wore shirts or hoodies). I got both posters, because my boyfriend works for the store (you know I was holding onto his, which of course is totally mine). We didn't really get to talk to people like the last time though. Maybe because I was flagged Alliance...
Most people didn't show up until it was almost midnight. Those of us that showed up early (or on time) joked that these were the people you always had to wait on in a group when you were trying to run something. That includes the one girl wearing a Horde hoodie who just ignored the line and walked into the store during the pre-ring. (I was going on about PVPing her since she was flagged). Someone actually brought their baby (I'm sorry, but leave the poor kid at home! He/She should be sleeping!).
At midnight, I ran in and got my Collector's Edition and if it wasn''t for the fact they had to get through everyone, they would have sang "Happy Birthday". Still, I ran out of the store and held it up for everyone to see and yelling "For the Alliance!", because I'm crazy like that.
I didn't install until the next morning, but I did look at the artbook. It was amazing! Of course it only serves as a reminder that I could never work for Blizzrd because my drawings suck compared to the ones in the book.
Thursday morning, I installed WotLK. I once again got the error message about my RAM (which is enough, but there is something wrong that it doesn't actually know how much is has). Other than that I installed successfully! It was nice that they had a little slide-show about the lore behind the game. Its really nice for those who haven't played the Warcraft series or studied the lore.
Since my boyfriend hadn't gotten his copy (lack of funds, since he payed for mine as a birthday present), he was already on the game on his low level priest. We had decided not to goto Northrend right away to avoid the "rush to be 71-80 first traffic". So I hopped on Ikari to help him out on his Duskwood quests since she was doing them too. We made a good team.
When my friend Chibi Dragon got on, we switched characters for our AntiTweak SM run!

AntiTweak 38 Druid
Ameonna 44 Hunter
Jarail 64 Paladin

We hit every single part of Scarlet Monastery and we got the achievemnet for it. We didn't die once. Afterwards we went back to the Armory to try to get the tabard, but it refused to drop. We decided to call it a day since Paul and I had to go out for dinner for my birthday.
I did complete Mythology of the Titans and we read all of books in the library for part the "Well Read" achievement.
I took some screenshots, but they are on my laptop, so I will post them later.

AntiTweak dinged 39 when she handed in the quest. 40 is just around the corner!

How spooky!
I installed the last patch on my laptop and WoW still runs! Actually, I'm not lagging like I used too, so I don't know what Blizzard did, but /cheer! I'm really excited for WotLK. I didn't get my vacation time, but I still have off on my birthday (when it comes out, best b-day present ever).

AntiTweak is 36! She got her mounts (all three sabers, because I couldn't choose one). I do have a screenshot, but its on the other computer. Sorry.
Hallow's End has started! I love this holiday more than any other. Already AntiTweak has done Tricks and Treats for both Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. She's also done Check Your Head, That Sparkling Smile, The Mask Task, The Savior of Hallow's End, and Trick or Treat! She's still working on A Mask for All Occasions and The Masquerade.
The Tricks and Treats were interesting. Eastern Kingdoms was easy until I had to go to Eastern Plaguelands. AntiTweak started in Hillsbrad Foothills and walked along the river until she got to Western Plaguelands and from there into the Eastern Plaguelands. She was ok till she hit that town and it took 2 deaths to cross that and a third to get to Light's Hope Chapel, but she made it.

For Kalimdor, I asked my boyfriend to help me around. I had completed most of them already, but I was not looking forward to going to Silithus (which means going through Tanaris and Un'Goro). He helped me out there, and going though Timbermaw Hold to get to Winterspring. Atleast I have all those flightpoints now.

He also went through all of his characters trying to get wands to transform AntiTweak. We got most of them. I hope to get the rest within the next few days.
After Hallow's End, we hope to run SM with our friends so AntiTweak can finally get her new tabard. For now she's started quests in Stranglethorn Vale.

The WoW Division of my gaming clan has been removed. Jenn (ex-guildleader/GoA) basically took everyone out of the guild and moved them to her family's guild because she did not like the way things were being run. We tried to rebuild, but that didn't work. So they decided to get rid of the division.
Out of game things have been difficult for me. Money problems and life have been getting in the way of things. Hopefully things will get better though.

Passed on most of the stuff and never needed (that I noticed). I hope to work with her again in the future.
Second, "Lvjiov" was horrible. He needed on a lot of stuff and didn't speak to us at all. We didn't kick him, but we watched him. We let him pick need or greed before we did so if he needed, we all would too. He seemed to straighten out about a third of the way through.
It was a great run. I didn't get all of my quests done, but we are probably going back. No one complained about me and no one died. We wiped the floor with most of the guys, but then again, we ran with a 39 and 40...

Although I've only reached 31, I know that by this time next year, she will be level 60.
The primary reason for lack of work on AntiTweak was because I was waiting for a Gnomeregan run, but its been hard to find a group. Everyone hates Gnomer and those that do run, are a bunch of n00bs. I'm going to try one last time and if it can't be done, I'll just have to move on. I will be running Scarlet Monastery though, just for the tabard!
2.3 came as a huge blow to us at the AntiTweak Project (all one of me). Although it made things easier for others, reaching 60 on AntiTweak just won't be the same.

Overall, 2007 has been a good year for me when it comes to World of Warcraft. My main finally reached 60, and all of my other characters are above 30. I got promoted within my division (guild) to Major General (fourth highest rank). I got the ball rolling on my own WoW website, and I'm hoping to move to a space of my own...

What's in a Name? The Full Story of the AntiTweak Project.

What's in a Name?
I have had many people ask me why I named my character "AntiTweak" when her name should be "AntiTwink". Do a search on the World of Warcraft Armory and you will see why. There are almost 30 "AntiTwinks" at any given time. I wanted a name that would stand out and still be relevent to the Project. Since I have heard a few people say "tweak" instead of "twink", I thought it would be a good choice.
Anti: A person who is opposed to something, such as a group, policy, proposal, or practice.
Twinking: Twinking is a term used in computer role-playing games to describe a low level playing style. A player who engages in twinking is known as a twink. The term's specific meaning differs depending on the game's genre.
In computer role-playing games and MMORPGs, twinking refers to outfitting a new character or player with items or other resources that are not normally available to new or low-level characters. A twink in this usage is a type of powergamer and munchkin. The term can also refer to the twinked character itself (e.g., "My twink has all the best gear.") In its most basic definition, a twink is a character with better gear than they could have easily gotten on their own.
Some people by mistake use "tweak" instead of "twink".
Tweak: to make a minor adjustment to: to tweak a computer program.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/tweak)

How AntiTweak was "Born"
The story of the AntiTweak Project begins in late December 2006. I had read an article in 'Massive Magazine' about a Troll Hunter that leveled without armor except for gloves, boots and jewelry up to level 40. He had a pet and the best weapons gold can buy. At first, I had to laugh, there was no way in hell a n00b style player like me could do anything like that. Then I thought about it, and my train of thought went like this: well of course he could do it, he had a partner all the time and on top of it he had a weapon. So who would go two steps farther and ditch the perment buddy and weapons?
What if I did it?
At this time I had created all three of my druids, my mage, and my rogue. I knew right off the bat that I could not go cloth, I had horrible problems soloing my mage. I knew mail wearing classes would be hell, and rogues, well I have rogue dyslexia. This was pre-Burnt Crusade, so shamans were not an option.
This left my favorite, the druid class. I knew it would be perfect, they were walking weapons. With the basic buffs, I would have more armor (Mark of the Wild) and the thorns would do extra damage. In animal forms, I could gain armor or dish out the damage. On top of it, I had healing spells and entangling roots would help pin down enemies if needed.
The name was the hardest part. All of my characters had Japanese names that reflected who they were for the most part. I knew this character was different from every other character I had ever created. Since I had been talking about "twinks" with my boyfriend, I thought, well she would be the opposite. She would be against "twink" style playing, so "AntiTwink" would be a great name. Except, I thought it sounded silly, and had probably already been done a million times over. So I used the lesser and more n00bish term "tweak".
And so "AntiTweak" the Night Elf Druid was born.

The First Weeks
In the beginning there was AntiTweak, alone, naked. Even though the project was going well, people constantly whispered me telling to put some clothes on. Despite the "cost" (because you know she totally needs the gold for upgrades and repairs), I chose a guild tabarb for "cover". It covered just enough while conveying the message she was not wearing any armor. Also, I happen to really support my guild/clan, so it was a matter of pride.
Next was her professions. Herbalism was chosen out of all the gathering professions for it's lack of "weapons" (mining uses mining picks and skinning a skinning knife), and its link with Alchemy which would allow AntiTweak to use potions to help her on her quest to reach level 60. I know that picks and knives are only kept in your bag and never used on combat, but I didn't like the idea of her carrying weapons. Besides, healing potions and mana potions really help in a pinch.
The choice to go "Feral" was made based on my favorite style of play. It would put me in the melee class, but healing wouldn't do me much good and I have a fear of running out of mana which can happen in caster form. Bear form would give me more armor while cat form would allow me to take my enemies by surprise, do damage quickly and run faster if needed.

The Little Things
Although AntiTweak was created only two weeks before the release of the Burnt Crusade, like all characters created on my account, she was mailed a Netherwhelp. His official name is Whelpie and has a personalty similar to GIR from Invader Zim. His hobbies include watching AntiTweak die and flying in pointless circles.
Optamo is AntiTweak's partner in crime and some suspect her boyfriend. Unlike most warrior's, he took up herbalism and alchemy like AntiTweak. Some might not think it manly to be picking flowers, but the potions you can make really makes up for that.

Last updated: 21 October 2007

So, I finally was able to fix the main computer and finally get back on World of Warcraft! /cheer

Hallow's End had just started so AntiTweak went to see an Innkeeper in Ironforge for some trick or treating. She gotten a few treats and only one trick. I've taken screenhots, but I need to reinstall Photoshop before they can be posted. I've done a few other things with her too.

Gnomeregan has been hell. It's really had to get a PUG for it. I've started doing to starter quests for Stormwind and Ironforge to kill time and increase reputation. I finally got into a group today though.

AntiTweak 31 Druid
Pronthes 31 Shaman
Strat 32 Mage
Boscoe 29 Warrior
Aurowene 32 Druid

So we went in and at first things were great. We killed Techbot and took the backdoor. We made into the one room before I died along with the warrior. Finally someone tells me to put my armor on and I tell them I don't have any. They get upset and said I should have told them this before. Keep in mind no one said anything when we were summoning and I was in Night Elf form and they could see I was naked.
It wasn't like they had to spend mana healing me constantly, I was actually doing really well, unlike other group members. They asked what my armor was and I told them 256. They were pretty shocked. Special thanks to my alchemy and my Mark of the Wild. :)
We made it only a little farther than my last group, before someone aggro'd way too many enemies. Everyone left after that.
I got Save Techbot's Brain done and most of the little things for the collection quests. I'm hoping my next group will be from my guild. Things always go better with them. From now on I think I have to warn people like I used too.
There were no screenshots taken for this group.
